Shelly Alderman, YT-200

Teacher

Shelly started practicing yoga at a studio in Clayton,NC in 2011. From the very beginning it felt like a return to home and a return to self, restoring balance, stillness and awareness.

After more than a decade of enjoying the yoga community and all the mental, physical and spiritual benefits that it has to offer, she committed herself to deepening her personal practice and expanding her understanding of yoga by completing a 200-hour yoga teacher certification.

As a yoga instructor, she cultivates a supportive and welcoming space that meets each student where they are in that moment, allowing for self-exploration, self-empowerment, and self-acceptance. She enjoys showing how accessible and beneficial yoga is to all bodies regardless of strength or flexibility as well as helping each individual strengthen their mind-body-spirit connection.

Shelly is a career Human Services professional with a degree in performing arts and psychology earned from Appalachian State University.

In addition to yoga, Shelly enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, reading, painting, and spending time with friends and family.
